Luna Gomez

Luna was born on May 4, 2011 around 8:30am to Milo and Bella and was named after Luna Lovegood. She was the only female in a litter of 7 and was the toughest of them all. We already had Milo and Bella and knew we were crazy to keep her but we knew that she was special. Luna was a perfect pup and Rafa always said that if able to, he would get her cloned. She was a total daddy’s girl, Milo absolutely adored her and would have separation anxiety if ever apart. Luna was always the most mischievous of the three and would do anything to get her paws on food. A few times she broke into the pantry and ate until she became a literal ball of food.
Rafa and Luna have always been two peas in a pod, but once Liv arrived Luna became her shadow. She was the one most intrigued by Liv and I’m sure it’s because she associated Liv with the person who would throw food on the floor. Luna was super patient with Liv and would let her get away with almost anything. Not once did she snap at her even if Liv wasn’t the most gentle.
All Luna wanted to do was eat and sleep, the perfect combo for a lap dog.
In May of 2021 we discovered that Luna had developed canine diabetes. She was on insulin twice a day and she got a little better but never returned to her chubby self and she lost her eyesight. During this time she adapted and remained her cuddly self. I knew we were just buying her some time and that the day would come that she’d cross over the Rainbow Bridge.
I’m thankful for the almost 12 years that she was a part of our little family and I’m so glad to have been able to give her a life full of love and belly rubs but dang does this hurt. Until we meet again my Luna Beluga.
