Arya Fabrey

arya fabrey

Arya Fabrey was born on April 20, 2014, in a litter of four, to Oscar and Maya in Western Pennsylvania. She met her Dad for the first time a week later, when he graduated college and returned home to quite the surprise. He never could have imagined how their lives would become intertwined, inseparable, and most of all, inspired. He did know, however, that she would be his Baby Girl forever.

Arya would spend her first summer running around the woods and wading through the banks of the Pymatuning before trading it in for an academic life as her Dad went to Grad School. When she wasn’t barking at a professor for a treat or getting kicked out of the library for “allegedly” pooping on an escalator, she could be found running up and down the sidelines cheering on her Dad when he played rugby; sometimes, even finding her way onto the pitch the tell-off a referee or make sure her Dad had immediate kisses after he got tackled near the boundaries.

Arya would then venture cross-country with her Dad and settle in Southern California. She loved the Cali sun, the weather, the beach, but loved spending time with her Dad most of all. Through schedule changes and uncertainty, she was always there. That was Arya’s doggie-duty: being there for her Dad through everything. Finally, he was able to spend more time with her once they moved to San Antonio, happily traveling cross-country again over 18 hours, through the desert, without complaints.

In San Antonio, Arya expanded her family – adopting her little cat brother, F’in Cyde. As attached to her Dad as she was, Clyde and Arya became inseparable until the end; sharing beds, blankies, meals, treats, and best of all love and affection.

Then, her Dad met her Momma and brought together the family she always wanted with another addition, her bigger littler brother Smalls, and Arya was thrilled to have another set of hands to give her pets and treats as well as another brother to cuddle and nap with. She continued to radiate love and joy, up until the end.

12+ years and over 6,000 miles of travel, she did more than most. Arya drank from both the Atlantic and Pacific against her better judgement, saw Meteor Crater and the Grand Canyon on the same day (unpopular opinion, Meteor Crater is better…her words!), and through it all was the best friend anyone could ask for. Arya, Arya Horseface, Arya Underfoot, Pipi Smaller, My Angel, My Precious, Baby Girl – by any name, she was always loved.

Arya’s life was filled with love, comfort, and tranquility, because that’s what she brought into it. Arya was a buoy in a storm, a shoulder to cry on, and the most trusted of confidants. When her Dad was at his lowest, Arya was there to lick away the tears and get him back on his feet. She gave him the strength that he needed, when he needed it most.

She knows her Dad will miss her, scratching her little Otter Pockets and getting his morning kisses. But she also knows that he loves her, that he will always love her, and that he will be ok. She knows because he promised.

Arya crossed the Rainbow Bridge peacefully on July 29, 2026, at home and surrounded by her loving family – Dad Michael & Momma IO, and brothers F’in’ Clyde & Smalls.

You will be forever missed, I love you Baby Girl.
