Chris it breaks my heart,I know how you feel.
Hugh Hefner
May 15, 2013 ~ October 31, 2026
You came into my life as a gift from the universe, and one of the best
friends I have ever had. Honestly, he was my family.
He was the last puppy of his litter in Pleasanton. They had named him
Hobo because they thought he would never get a home. I paid the $300 I
had, borrowed a truck, and brought him home, and I renamed him Hugh
Hefner, keeping the H. He was a black dog with a bright light inside
him.
He never made an enemy, and he remembered everyone. If you met him, you’d know.
He got me running, jogging, and riding my bike, right beside me, first
on a leash and later off leash. He would stop when I stopped. I taught
him to swim, holding his belly in the pool, and swimming became his
thing. All the endless hours swimming in circles, playing with the
rocks, and he was so grumpy when we had to leave. He has been to just
about every park in San Antonio.
I remember when we kept each other warm when we had no heater, and you
slept with me through the heat when we had no AC. Through the ups and
the downs in life you have always had my side. Always.
If it wasn’t for you I would’ve had too much time on my hands.
Now you don’t have to worry about leaving, my boy. You are in better hands now.
I love you, and I’ll never let your spirit die. I will never forget him.
