Sassy the Cat

Sassy El Paso 1994 – San Antonio 18 Aug 06
Sassy came to us in December of 1994. She was such a pretty little longhaired calico. It was so hard to believe that she didn’t belong to someone. But she was in fact a beautiful stray.
Her eyes were big and green and she seemed to say so much just by looking at you. We took her in and she took to us just as quickly as we took to her. Sassy’s demeanor was always so loving and gentle and easy going. She was just the sweetest little cat.
She had many ways of telling you what was on her mind. If I was sitting at the table looking at the paper she would jump up to lay on it as if to say, “Here I am, pay attention to me”. She would sometimes follow me from room to room and wait for me to sit down so she could jump in my lap. Then at night she would lay at the foot of the bed until she was ready, then she came up beside me to get under the covers and lay against me.
Then Sassy got sick and although it broke our hearts we knew we had to let her go. One bit of comfort is knowing that one day we will all eventually be together again.
Sassy, you are missed tremendously but you are always in our hearts.
