In Loving Memory of Abcde

Today we said goodbye to one of the most special souls our family has ever known.

Abcde came into my life when I was just 14 years old. For the last 15 years, she has been my constant through so many chapters of life—from being a teenager, to growing into adulthood, through every home, every heartbreak, every milestone, and every new beginning. It’s hard to remember a time before her because she was simply always there.

Abcde was the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. She had a personality all her own and was never afraid to let you know exactly what she thought. She demanded affection on her terms, ruled the house with quiet confidence, and somehow managed to make everyone fall in love with her.

As she grew older, her favorite place became wherever the sunshine was. She loved stretching out in a warm patch of sunlight, soaking up every peaceful moment. Those quiet afternoons now feel like some of the most precious memories I’ll ever have.

Thank you, Abcde, for 15 wonderful years of unconditional love, comfort, laughter, and companionship. Thank you for growing up with me. You were there for so much of my life, and a piece of my heart will always belong to you.

Run free now, sweet girl. Find all the warm sunbeams, soft blankets, and peaceful places to nap. You were deeply loved, and you always will be.
