Avery Shafer

Avery, best little friend to Cindy Shafer, was born April 2nd, 1998 and died on Thursday, October 27th, 2005. Although I only had him for 7 1/2 years, he brought more happiness into my life than you would imagine one dog could. One of his favorite pasttimes was chasing the birds and squirrels across the yard. Avery was very mischievous, but most of that came from being super smart. Most people weren’t convinced he was all dog.; they believed he had to be part human to be that smart. Every night was pure joy to come home from work, knowing I had Avery to spend my evenings with. The first thing he would do was start getting out his toys, one by one(the stuffed ones being first.) Second, he would want dinner and then the grand finale; his walk for the evening. If I was too tired to go, he would find a way of talking me into it, even if it took him until 10 at night, and I loved that about him, too. Besides myself, he will be terribly missed by my daughter, Amy, and my mother, Gigi. Both loved him with all their hearts. You will be in our thoughts always. Love you, Mom.
