Caramel Posey

Caramel Posey was put down June 22, 2005 after 11 years of love. She was the first pet that I owned and she was my companion for many years. She came into my life when I was eleven years old and was with me through middle school, high school and college. We grew up together and although my family loved her too, she was more my dog and moved to college with me.

As most beagles are, Caramel was very mischievous and was known to dig out from any yard, climb trees, and chase cats. She loved long walks where her nose was on the ground the entire time following scents. She escaped our yard many times and thought it was a funny game when I chased her. She liked camping, burying her bones, ice in her water dish, and making nests in my clean clothes to sleep in! She was full of energy, and was a great dog. Every time she would hear my voice when I came home she would start whining and get so excited.

This time is very painful, but happy memories are getting me through it and I am glad she is not in any more pain. She lived an active life, but she was slowing down this June. I am a better person for having Caramel in my life, as she has been there through thick and thin. I miss her so much, but we will meet again someday. I hope she is having fun chasing animals and being her young self again. Breanna Posey
