Chiquita Alvarez

chiquita alvarez

Chiquita was born on November 29, 2000. She was what you call a planned pregnancy. I picked her out when she was only 1 day old. I couldn’t wait to take her home. Once home we bonded instantly. She grew up to be a beatiful long haired double dapple. I cherished every day I had with her. She made me laugh every day with silly things she did such as her happy bark every time I came home and the way she would try to act tough by growling when you got too close to her treat, but she never bit. She was my beautiful baby and she knew it. She is the dog I will never forget although I’ll have many more. My love for her and dachshunds in general grew as I adopted another dachshund when she turned 5 years old. They were very close and my red dachshund was the only dog of mine that she tolerated. She passed away on Febuary 28, 2009 at 9 years old. We did not know she was sick and she never complained. It hurts everyday when I think of her but I want everyone to know what a special dog she was and she will never be forgotten.
