Comet Carrizo

Comet was one of a kind. He was very special to me and the best friend I have ever had. He was more than an Assistance Dog to me. Comet was one more member of our family. We loved him so much that even my Mom considered him like another son and a brother to me. Comet was always taken into consideration whenever there was a big decision to make as a family. I will never forget Comet’s personality and the time we spent together at the job. He was there for me during the good and bad times; always there to give me comfort whenever I needed it. Comet will always cheer me up when he would see me sad or a little down. When I was not too happy, he will come to me and let me pet him or even lay beside me when I was sick. He would lick me to make me feel better. At school, he was very hardworking and a well behaved Service dog. He was always friendly to all people whom he met and very calm. While going through high school and college, Comet was there for me, and fulfilled his duties as an Assistance dog, all the way until the end. On his last days, which took all of us by surprise, one comment the veterinary who treated Comet said “He is a very heroic dog and he did not complain. I have never seen a dog like Comet.” Yes, this was my Comet, no complaints, not even when his body was being consumed by the liver cancer they found, which was in the last stages. Comet will be remembered by all the people who met him as a very friendly dog and will never be forgotten. We all love you Comet,

Mario Luis Carrizo, Jr.
