Cub Williams

cub williams

Cub was a rescue pup that my daughter got in 2004 at Texas Tech when her and her roommate moved into a rented house. He was listed as a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix and he looked and acted every bit of that ancestry. He grew to be a great protector, a gentle and loving companion and one of the “world champion” catching and fetching dogs of all time. A loyal and loving guard dog, Cub was a member of our family from the first day. When our daughter was commissioned in the USAF and stationed overseas my wife and I became Cubs parents. He was friends with our beloved Sheltie, Hobbes then later with Blue, our Aussie, and finally with Charlie our Yorkie. Always a gentleman, he never misbehaved and served as a mentor to the younger dogs who loved and always looked up to him. He became my hiking companion, covering hundreds of miles in the city parks and trails of San Antonio as well as the State parks of Lost Maples, Garner and Guadalupe. He had recently become deaf, but his sudden death shocked us all and our sadness is an expression of the empty spot in our lives and home that his loving memory does not completely fill. We will miss him always and will keep his memory in our hearts. Love you forever Cub, say hello to Hobbes for us.
