Darby Garrett

darby garrett

On December 21, 2005 Darby was the second of eleven pups born to my son’s vizsla, Mia. She quickly became a wonderful companion, an integral part of our lives. When we take a pet it is with the understanding that that day will come when we say goodbye. For our Darby that day was July 20, 2017. Far too soon. She is now bound for the hills where cool waters flow, on the road that as taken her home. In Laudato Si, Pope Francis wrote, Eternal life will be a shared experience of awe, in which each creature, resplendently transfigured, will take is rightful place and have something to give those poor men and women who will have been liberated once and for all. More succinctly, Will Rogers said, If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went. Amen! Darby will ever live in memory of the good times. We miss her terribly.
