A strong and loyal red heeler who devoted himself to protecting his family and territory with pride. A perfect pet in every aspect. Daxter’s family and pet partner-in-crime, Luna, will forever hold a special place in their heart for Daxter.
Daxter was 6 weeks old when he adopted us as his forever family. He gave us 11 wonderful years. There was never a dull moment with him. One thing is for certain, he will be missed!
From the moment he chose us to be his forever family to his last breaths, he knew he was loved. I’m glad he was surrounded by his family when he crossed the bridge. (We will take him tomorrow be cremated).
He was a character! There was never a dull moment with him around. His favorite toy was a squeaky rubber chicken. He loved running and walking the trails with his family. He was very loyal and was always first in line for treats. Sadly, he flunked out of puppy training school but he was able to graduate. I believe it was his charm and big smile that wowed the instructor which allowed him to graduate puppy trading school. He had such a loving and happy personality. He loved jumping up and giving you a hug especially during a walk.
When he became a big brother to Luna, he gladly accepted the role. She became his partner in crime. Together, Luna and Daxter won a costume contest by dressing up as a Texas football player and Texas Longhorns cheerleader. They enjoyed barking animals up the trees (and barking at the deer and other critters on the other side of the fence).
To some he was just a dog, but to us he was family. He was our first family dog. His passing left a huge hole in our hearts. Daxter will be missed.
