Duchess Bound
November 1, 2004 ~ March 25, 2019
Duchess passed away peacefully, beside her father of nearly 10 years and mother of over a year, Monday, March 25th, 2019, in the bed they shared together. Duchess was adopted by her father, Michael Bound, November 1st, 2010, at the age of 6 from Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas when she chose him to be her life partner forevermore. Duchess’ shyness disguised her deep sweetness and kindness to all living things. She never bore fangs at anyone, but she was fiercely protective of her family and home. After Michael’s mother passed away in 2018, Duchess stayed by his side every day and supported him through his grief and loss. She was the perfect companion, friend, baby girl, baby bear, puppy monkey baby, and a thousand other nicknames her father gave her over their many years together. Duchess’ paws and body were held tight and she was bathed in love during her last moments, and she passed knowing she had her father and mother close by. Anyone who crossed paths with Duchess will forever be affected by her beauty and personality. She loved being pampered and spoiled with soothing baths, thorough brushings of her lengthy beautiful hair, long chin scratches, relaxing ear rubs, soft belly rubs, and invigorating back and neck massages. Always curious about the world, Duchess was an avid explorer and lover of nature. She will be forever missed by her countless human friends, and her loving family, including two Dachshund brothers she helped raise from puppyhood over the past few years. Her father Michael will especially miss her companionship and will be eternally grateful for the love they shared together from the moment they first laid eyes on one another. Their bond will never be broken or replaceable and he will always hold a special place in his heart in all his remaining days for her. For all those who were blessed with Duchess’ friendship, her comfort, love, beauty, sweetness, and uniqueness will never be forgotten, and our hearts will forever feel the loss of her presence.
