Highway-you were an amazing dog with so much love to everyone that you met. You will be so greatly missed. Thank you for the very many memories that you have left with us and thank you for protecting our families and for always looking out for Grandma. We love you with all of our hearts and will see you someday.

Highway went to be with her beloved furry friends Nugget and Helen on 11/09/2024, she was 13 years old. She passed away peacefully in her home after spending the day sunbathing outside, one of her favorite things. Highway (also known as “Smelly Dog”) lived life just like her name, fast, fun, and free. She was best known for her troublemaking ways, eating many a holiday dinner, several pizzas, and barbecue dinners. When she was younger, she loved going on runs with her mom and especially enjoyed roaming on the family’s 60 acre ranch. Highway loved people and got to meet so many fun and exciting persons all over the state. Her favorite activity was spending time on friends’ front porches socializing and getting all the pets and attention she could ask for.
She was always smiling and loved going on unplanned trips to go explore. There was no gate nor door that could keep Highway in. Most notably, she had a penchant for breaking out of Hotel rooms and wandering the hotel halls. While both her mothers were extremely worried about her when she went on these adventures, she met so many new friends and got to share that contagious smile with everyone. She is credited for being the great protector, getting her mom through many a hard time. She will be remembered as being a life saver, a guardian, a shoulder to cry on, and an adventurer. We will miss the arf-ing, the demanding of the face rubs, and that big squirrel tail.
She leaves behind her beloved owners Victoria and Lindsey Rodriguez amongst her four legged brothers and sisters. She will be missed by all, but never forgotten. Run free Highway, until we meet again.
