From the day you came to live with us from the humane society, stealing my hamburger and biting my mother so hard she bled, we knew that you would be something, someONE, who would change our lives. Scary intelligent, crafty, and full of life, you gave Mike and I a run for our money and subsequently we all ended up enrolled in training classes… from beginner to really advanced. Being well trained never changed who you were fundamentally and stealing food any chance you got was probably your favorite pastime… and damn you were good at it. From a whole spiral sliced ham, to a pound of milky ways, to alcohol soaked fruit, to bags of sliced bread, to heaven only knows what other things… you always found something. No counter or tabletop or trashcan was off limits to you…. yea, I saw you figure out how to step on the foot pedal to open the kitchen trash can.

Remember the small squeaky Kong balls you loved so much? I certainly do… even if the last time you played fetch was years ago now. Those balls were your life and fetch was your JAM. I remember throwing the ball as far as possible into an open field for you to find it. You always did. Then you’d kill the squeaky part and your job was done. Oddly, you never hunted or killed anything alive.

The one toy you never killed was Super Moose. Though threadbare and a little holey, Super Moose is accompanying you to the Bridge… his squeaker still works, even…. 15 years later. He was your first toy and shall accompany you to the next adventure.

All in all I want to thank you for the years, the lessons, and love you gave us. We truly are better people because of you and we love you very much. Your life with us taught us more than we ever expected and gave us more than we imagined. You truly were a good girl and you will be missed more than you can even comprehend.

Love Forever, Stupid Mom and Boring Dad

Ps: please be nice to Emmi up there at the bridge…. she loves you and has probably missed you.
