MacGyver Balusek

MacGyver was welcomed over the Rainbow Bridge by his dear sister, Lili, on June 14, 2023. I miss everything about my precious best friend who loved everything life had to offer. I thought I had rescued him in March 2008, but in truth he rescued me. It was love at first sight when he came tottering across a picnic table towards me. Out of 8 Havapoo puppies, he was the first to come to me and he crawled up onto the top of my left hand and refused to budge. His big, warm eyes were full of adoring love and hope, so I quickly made the decision that he would be mine. MacGyver was an extraordinary dog: loving, calm, easy going, cuddly, intelligent, obedient. He loved our many long walks around the lake. He was adored by everyone who met him. especially his vet of 15 years, Dr. Claudia Alldredge, and his groomer, Linda Hendrix. He warmed my heart and soul each time he peacefully fell asleep in my arms or on my chest. Loving MacGyver was easy because he was a part of me. He was and always will be my heart, soul, and spirit. It was very difficult to say goodbye, but I will never forget him because of my many treasured memories and photos. I will miss him the rest of my life.

of us so much joy, just seeing his pictures and hearing about him. We are told that God loves His creation and I believe with all my heart that one day we will see our beloved fur babies again. My deepest heartfelt love and sorrow to you Charlotte, and as my dear friend Grandma De used to tell me, “We will see him again.”

I fell in love with you the minute I saw you. You were a special, lovely little man, the best big brother to Lili, Liam, and Tizi and your momma’s bestest boy.
I’m sure MacGyver and his friends will be waiting for you, just like all our dogs will be waiting for us when its all our times to cross that same bridge. Be sure to pack a doggy bag full of good treats and a bouncy ball because when they haven’t seen us for a while our canine friends always want to know, what did you bring me?

I am stunned! You took the best care of all of your babies. And now this. Yes, you will miss him terribly which breaks our hearts but we are encouraged by the memories you have of him. So precious. So kind whenever I visited.
