Matlock Cates

Our baby, Matlock “Mattie Boy”, went to the Rainbow Bridge Sunday, October 22, 2017. Mattie was the son of Hercules and Sadie, two dachshunds raised by David Cantu. Mattie is survived by his 3rd dad Craig and Mom Mary Cates. He is also survived by his half brother Longfellow, son of Hercules and Dolly, and Buddy Cates, a black dachshund who doubles as a ball player in his spare time. Mattie was that special dog who had to have every inch of his skin touching your skin in bed. He took turns who he slept by and in his early years, he would wait for me to come home and he would jump on the pillow and usually nap with me for 45 minutes. Everyone was his friend. Special thanks to Dr. Ray Trimmier, Loop 410 Vet Clinic and Edward Garcia, his hospice nurse for several weekends, for the tender loving care they provided. Also many thanks Dr. Phil Whisnand for going to the home and sending Mattie back home. We had 16 years with our pretty boy and will dearly miss him. Mary & Craig Cates
