Pablo Contreras
April 11, 2008 ~ February 18, 2009
Pablo came into our hearts and lives on April 11, 2008 and went to wait for us by the Rainbow Bridge on February 18, 2009. He is survived by his mother, Gladys; brother, Goliath; and sisters, Piggy, Minnie Mouse, and Little Bits; also, his “uncle” Blue, and “aunts” Maya and Princess. His human family includes “grandpa” George, “grandma” Merrilynn, Ryan and Devon . Pablo was the first born of his littermates whose mother was a stray that came to us with quite a surprise in her small frame. “Grandpa” George always felt a particular closeness to Pablo since he had to cut his umbilical cord when his mother couldn’t. George would often refer to Pablo as “The Most Interesting Dog in the World” because of his confidence and suave demeanor. There is nothing that Pablo was afraid to try and he was often the first to discover new things. When “grandpa” would pick up Pablo and hold him to his chest, Pablo would raise up his front legs and look over “grandpa’s” shoulder as if he was so proud to be so tall and proud to be “grandpa’s” little boy. Grandpa was just as proud to have such a good puppy look up to him. Pablo was a man’s man. There was nothing about him that wasn’t just like a real boy. Not a single thing about him that wasn’t tough. He was mischievous and strong to the end but not a mean bone in his body. Through all of his severe injuries, he did not cry and still made efforts to show affection and consideration to those that loved him. He and his littermates were very close growing up and Pablo loved playing with all of them. Pablo was closest to his sister Piggy who will miss him very much. Their duets, when fire trucks would pass, will never be the same without the lead voice. Pablo, we love you and miss you and you will always be in our hearts. We would like to thank Dr. Don Johnson for his care and compassion for Pablo and for the guidance that he gave to our family during this difficult time.
