Powder Shelton Carter peacefully passed away October 29th, 2024. Powder was 14 years old in human years and 78 in canine.
Powder is survived by his canine brother Peanut Butter. He is also survived by his human brother Eric Anthony Rodriguez II, his mother Ruby LaDawn Carter, his father Eric Anthony Rodriguez, his grandmothers Jacqueline Marie Walker and JoAnn Cox, his mischievous ally Danielle (Deedee) Alexis Carter, and many other family members, friends, and children whom he brought laughter and joyful love. He is preceded in death by his canine brother Monkey Man.
Powder was born in San Antonio, TX and was a beautiful, innocent puppy whose ears made him topple over until he grew into the fierce protector of his family. He successfully rescued us from the threat of dogs, cats, birds, snakes, bobcats, squirrels, boogies, tears, and especially fireworks.
He was greatly known in every neighborhood that he lived, every dog park, elementary schools, and universally beloved. Powder was the rock that gave his family strength, the pillow we’d cling to when the world was unkind, and the motivation to keep us going. Powder was one of a kind; a blessing direct from God. Powder reminded us that love, humility, kindness, and joy are the key to life.
