We adopted Princess from a Parrot Sanctuary at what vets estimated was around age 20 for her. She was unable to fly and was being picked on by other Cockatiels in her aviary. We were immediately drawn to her and decided to take her home.
Princess was a true princess and surely lived up to her name. She received pampered treatments, lots of attention, was stubborn, knew what she wanted and was determined to get it. She would “Pew” when she wanted something, and was not afraid to yell at us when she was upset. She was also an inspiration and a true definition of strength. Despite many ailments and old age, she just enjoyed life and our company. She enjoyed cuddles and head scratches, and replying to her birdmates.
We had her for about 8.5 years, and we appreciated all the time we got with her. Adopting her was one of the best decision we could ever make, and advocates for adopting elderly pets who deserve a second chance. We miss her dearly, and know we will see her again some day. Fly high Princess!
