Suede Blankemeyer was born on Dec 4, 1996 in Del Rio, Texas. He passed away on Jan 2, 2008 at the age of 11. He was one of 12 yellow Labrador puppies. Early on we knew he would be a big dog because one reason we picked him was because he had the biggest paws. Suede spent the early years of his life in a trailer house on Laughlin AFB. He had a big yard and stayed inside with the family a lot. He loved to play ball and Frisbee and was just like a big cuddly teddy bear. Suede had such a sweet personality and was very friendly to his family and friends. He was very loyal and protective.

When Suede was 8, we moved to our new home in Del Rio. There he had access to a swimming pool and a huge back yard. The family has so many great memories and will always treasure the time spent together with him. In late 2007, Suede was diagnosed with cancer. He survived two surgeries to remove the cancer. Suede had a will to live and will always be remembered as a fighter. He wanted to come home and stay with us as long as he could. There will never be a better more faithful and loyal pet in our family.

Suede was loved by his owners, Dennis, Sue, Kelby, and Kadin. He also had several lifelong friends, Sadie, who passed away in 2004; Bailey, a miniature dachshund; Murphy, a Chia-Poo; Zoey, a dachshund; and Jake the cat will continue to carry on his memory on for the family. Zoey was especially fond of Suede and she laid beside him until the very end. Everyone will miss him so much.
